Lotte Reiniger and "The Adventures of Prince Achmed"

Just the other day, when I was at lectures at the morning, our group was shown a fragment of one very special and very nicely done movie - "The Adventures of Prince Achmed".
This piece of animation was shot at 1926, by a german director named Lotte Reiniger. The whole thing was made by her with paper cut-outs. What I find amazing about that movie is the way the cut-outs flow so efortlessly an easily. The music and the background colour contribute for creating an amazing ambience and the Audience just sinks into the movie. Granted, it may not look like much in todays standards, but it is still an amazing piece of work, made with lo-fi materials, and a lot of love.
